Earlier this month, Verdure Studio had the pleasure of hosting a hands-on Succulent Terrarium Workshop at Bloom and Grow Creative in Natick, MA. Held in the charming and inspiring space of this local creative studio, the evening brought together plant lovers of all experience levels for a relaxing and engaging experience rooted in creativity and connection.
Custom Terrariums, Step by Step
Led by Verdure Studio founder Drew Angers, the workshop walked participants through the full process of creating their own custom terrariums. From selecting the perfect succulents to learning how to build a proper soil foundation, guests were given all the tools and tips needed to design thriving arrangements. The class covered:
Plant selection and soil preparation
Arrangement techniques for both function and beauty
Strategic watering methods (including how to avoid overwatering)
Long-term care strategies to keep plants healthy and happy
Each participant received four succulents, premium soil, and the option to design their arrangement in either a classic glass terrarium or a repurposed wine bottle planter for a unique twist. Additional plants were available for purchase during the event for anyone wanting to add a little extra flair to their creation.
Learning to Care for Your New Plants
In addition to the creative design process, Drew taught attendees essential plant care techniques to help their succulents thrive long after the workshop. From understanding light requirements to mastering bottom watering and recognizing early signs of stress, each guest left not only with a beautiful terrarium—but also with the confidence to keep their plants healthy at home.

A Relaxing & Memorable Night
The energy in the room was focused, fun, and joyful as guests got their hands in the soil, swapped tips with fellow attendees, and watched their terrariums take shape. Whether it was someone’s first time working with succulents or their tenth, the workshop provided a unique opportunity to unplug, connect with nature, and leave with something beautiful and personalized.
